Tamil Nadu Engineering Admission (TNEA) 2022 Eligibility Criteria

Before filling out the application form, familiarise yourself with the TNEA eligibility criteria:

General Eligibility:

  • Candidates from Tamil Nadu who have completed the eighth, ninth, tenth, eleventh, and twelfth grades from schools in the state are eligible to apply and do not need to provide a nativity certificate.
  • Candidates who have completed their eighth, ninth, tenth, eleventh, and twelfth grades or its equivalent in schools outside of Tamil Nadu can apply, but they must submit an original nativity certificate in electronic form/digitally signed e-certificate.
  • Applicants must be children of Central Government employees, PSU employees, or All India Tamil Nadu cadre officers.
  • Candidates who studied in the Tamil Nadu state as Sri Lankan Tamil Refugees will be considered in an open competition. Candidates in this situation must produce their –
    • Head Quarters Tahsildar issues an identification certificate.
    • Original passport, visa, and letter, all of which have been recorded with the police station (only for those not registered in the refugee camp).
  • To be considered for a position in maritime engineering, applicants must be at least 25 years old.

Educational Qualification

  • Candidates must have completed their 12th/ HSC or equivalent from a recognized board or university in order to apply.
  • The candidate must have completed his or her HSC with Physics, Mathematics, and Chemistry as required subjects.
  • Students at the Intermediate level must have received a minimum of 50% for general candidates, 45 percent for OBC candidates, and 40 percent for SC/ ST/ MBC/ DNC/ SCA candidates.
  • Students interested in marine engineering must have completed 12th grade with PCME subjects and received 60 percent in PCM and 50 percent in English.

How to fill Tamil Nadu Engineering Admission (TNEA) 2022 application form?

Step 1: TNEA Registration – Candidates must first go to the official website and complete the TNEA 2022 registration process by providing information such as their mobile number and registered email address. Once the registration is complete, the login credentials will be provided to the official email address and mobile number.

Step 2: TNEA 2022 application form – Candidates must fill out the required personal information, such as their address and a valid photo ID, as well as academic information, such as their qualifying exam, board name, year of graduation, and grade point average.

TNEA Counselling 2022
